that's the same people who claim to have landed on the moon with a crew and a moon buggy drive it around , have a laugh and GET BACK!....as I said wake up!

You don't believe humans went to the moon during the Apollo space program of the late 60's early 70's?

Our junk is still up there on the moon.
I met astronaut/senator John Glenn once. We went to the moon.

You wake up.

never heard of him, but Ive heard of Honda and they are a company that make motorcycles so when one of them implodes after 27 miles I would want my money back.

Sorry dude we did not get to the moon, do you know the temp difference between the light and shadow on the moon?

never heard of him,
I certainly hope you are not an American, because it would be a disgrace for an American to not know who John Glenn is.
( Or the rest of the pioneers of the early space programs for that matter. )

It was an historic, and important time period. This chapter in history must not be lost. Great sacrifices were made, and even greater accomplishments were achieved.

Perhaps you should start by reading this:

Bloody **** SandMantis, you'll be telling us the Earth is round next!

I'm not American but I can guess that suggesting NASA didn't make it to the Moon would be almost as ludicrous as suggesting their own government attacked the World Trade Centre.

There's probably more computing power in our CB's than there was in the Apollo rockets but that doesn't meant it didn't happen!

sorry sandmantis but I dont believe everything I read, im not some nut job either but I look at the facts and come to my own conclusions that's all, I just have an open mind and I hear what your saying but in my opinion (its just my opinion) we oooops sorry, you guys didn't go to the moon.

please feel free to change my opinion though, you can start by teaching me what we, sorry, you guys achieved?

And I always thought that we in the States and folks in the UK were buddies . I guess I was wrong about your side, I did'nt know America bashing was so common there:(

I'm still trying to figure out how his bike "imploded", I don't recall that in the original thread unless I missed something.

This is confusing - a thread with links leading to another thread which turns out to have the same content with links back to the identical first thread!

The bolt that holds the rocker arm shaft in place fell out, allowing the shaft to work its way out, which in turn allowed the rocker arm(s) to move out of position and stop opening the valves. When this happened, the engine stopped running.

Makes sense, thank you.

Tomorrow I am to hear back from Honda customer service. They said they had assigned a rep to handle my "issue". Hope that is true. Also, I have not received a call yet from Cycle Barn, but I have called twice, Thursday, and Friday at 15 minutes before their closing giving them ample time and opportunity to call me to let me know what they were doing and what they had found. No call from them, but I called and they said they did not "SEE" any damage and that a couple of the valves were tight. They had a part being shipped by Honda to fix the bike and the part won't be in until the following Tuesday! Did they call to let me know? Nope. Not even getting a call after they have had to order parts and know I won't have my bike back for ANOTHER weekend is more evidence of a lack of customer service that makes me want to just leave them with their broken bike. I hope the Honda rep actually follows up. I will keep you informed. Honesty is always the best policy and reporting the truth might get them to do what is right and fair. Until tomorrow..........

Sorry to hear about the problem with the motor, they should replace the motor at the very least, and give you another bike to ride until it's fixed. Most states have a lemon law so check into it. The fact they are saying it has tight valves, to me the motor would be suspect, that is two issues with the same bike, plus all the time lost. I feel for you, but first year bikes sometimes have issues, honda had problems before on first year bikes. The more people you call the better, like they say, the squeaky wheel get the lube / attention. Here's to fast resolution ! ylism

Your situation stinks.

I consider myself a fairly reasonable person:

Be solution oriented and reasonable. Offer a suggestion that isn't too expensive, but provides you with assurances.

I would ask that:

1 That all effected engine parts be replaced. Not repaired.
2. I would ask that Honda provide you with an extended warranty at no charge. ( They offered me one from Honda at the dealership for a few hundred dollars)

Maybe I am way off, but this would alleviate your anxiety about future problems and it would be a little compensation for the time you haven't been able to ride.

You can purchase the extended warranty anytime within the first year here in Iowa. I generally don't think people should get something for nothing, but in this case I think you deserve a little assurance that your bike will run in the future as it should.

When you get the survey from Honda tell the truth about the dealership. This is always a concern for good dealerships.

Be reasonable, but do talk your way up the ladder. You can smile at people even if you don't agree. My mother always said you can kill them with kindness. It is a strategy that has worked for me when things don't go as planned. People in retail are constantly getting yelled out, and treated like crap. Surprise them with your ability to come to a compromise without getting crappy.

excuse me but I am in no way America bashing at all, that's just ridiculous i love America! your just jumping to some crazy conclusion because you've read a little discussion i was having with sandmantis. i was sucked into trying to help a poor guy out whos Honda is knackered.

in my opinion the guy needs to get his money back and get a different bike because how is he going to trust that bike again? his confidence riding it will never be the same in my opinion.

Lots of ideas bouncing around here. Lemme sort it out real quick:

Yeah, Earth is round.

Apollo space missions put humans on the moon. FACT.

Our own corrupt government possibly had a hand in the events of 9-1-1.
( Lots of information that points in that direction. )

Even the mighty Space Shuttle had very primitive computers by todays standards.
( They didn't really need to be super powerful, to do their job anyway. )

*from Wiki:
The IBM AP-101 computers originally had about 424 kilobytes of magnetic core memory each. The CPU could process about 400,000 instructions per second. They had no hard disk drive, and loaded software from magnetic tape cartridges.
In 1990, the original computers were replaced with an upgraded model AP-101S, which had about 2.5 times the memory capacity (about 1 megabyte) and three times the processor speed (about 1.2 million instructions per second). The memory was changed from magnetic core to semiconductor with battery backup.

You are bashing America, when you openly deny one of the greatest achievements America has accomplished.

This is no different than if an anti-semite shows up on this forum and starts denying the Nazi holocaust ever happened.

We don't appreciate you trolling this forum. You stated your opinion.
I disagree with your opinion. Our viewpoints have been expressed.

Now lets move back to the topic of this thread. It has been derailed long enough.

I was more than generous to allow everyone to express their viewpoints.
If you noticed, I didn't edit or delete anyone's posts.
