Thanks for that socal. Not to worry about delayed posting as I went ahead with the fitment anyway.
As you can see from the attached photo's I went with the fairings off method favoured by Honda. It actually wasnt as bad as I thought, with the main fairing just requiring a little wiggling to persuade it off the bike. The only real tricky bit was getting tools into the frame to undo the 2 bolts holding the dash and headlight subframe onto the main chassis. Such a tight space and was tricky getting enough leverage on the only small tools I had that would fit in there.
My next concern was fitting the screen itself as initially it didnt seem to fit very well in the space vacated by the old screen. In fact at one point I even contemplated putting the old screen back in. But I perservered and hoped once fixed in position with all the fasteners around the console, it would work out. Fortunately it did, but only just.
I like the result and the blue goes well with the tri-colour scheme. So far I have only been up to 50mph, and its only at that speed that I have noticed a massive difference between the stock screen.
I think the only thing left to do now is upgrade the scooter bike levers Honda saw fit to attach to this machine!

I like it a lot. Thanks for sharing! I'm now really torn between this and the zero gravity*.

*When someone finally becomes a guinea pig for fitment and they release them.

A quick update now that I had a chance today to open the bike up a bit on the freeway here. Up to 70+ mph I could feel the wind going over the top of my helmet and was also able to do a life saver observation over my shoulder without my visor popping open.
So all in all this screen is doing what I ask of it. A worthwhile upgrade :D.

Excellent pics!!

May I ask a question please? About feeling the wind going over the top of your helmet, were you in a tuck or "normal" riding posture. Was there any buffeting?

Thanks!
Normal riding position, but I am only 5 foot 6 inches tall. So if you are a lot taller you may need to be in a slight tuck.
Put it this way I can turn my head without the visor popping open like it used to with the stock screen.

I just installed the dark tint Powerbronze screen over the weekend and had a good blast down the highway to test the difference... I'm 6'1" and this screen has a markable difference over stock. In standard seated position I can tell the wind is hitting just the very top of my helmet now, where previously it was about my shoulders.

With the stock screen, riding with visor open at speeds above ~70kph was uncomfortable, at 100+kph was unbearable. With the new screen it is pleasurable to ride with the visor open at those speeds, however as mentioned the wind hits the top of my helmet; so at about 90kph and above with the visor open I have to just slightly tilt my head down so the visor doesn't catch wind... but really at those speeds I'd be having my visor down anyways, so was just for testing purposes. Wind buffeting around the shoulders is most certainly diminished and only the worst of turbulence from large vehicles is noticable now.

The BIGGEST difference though was night time riding and bugs!
I rode for a good 2hrs through contry and city roads, and where previously my visor would be caked, with the new windscreen I didn't have one single bug on my visor! There was still a good splattering on the front of the bike, but goes to show how effective the new screen is :)

So in summary, the Powerbronze screen is a higly recommended modification over the stock windscreen. It makes riding a more pleasurable, less tiring experience.

How did you find out how to install it? Does it come with a step-by-step guide or do I need to hunt around? I haven't taken the front fairing off and given the pictures on the previous page of a nearly bare bike I'm suddenly a bit nervous...

Considering getting one of these screens as I find that the wind makes it hard to hear through the intercom I use while riding, particularly at highway speeds, but I want to know what's in store first so far as installation goes.

Also, the screen in this thread, is it this one ?

No instructions provided, yeah you pretty much have to strip the all fairings stuff off... I've done it a few times before already so wasn't much of an issue. If you've never pulled the front apart, yes it can be a little daunting but take your time and it's not all that bad.
The only tools you'll need to complete the task is a 5mm allen, and for those two **** hard to reach bolts that are mentiond, an 8mm socket on ~4" extension and easiest with the small 1/4 driver. And a tip for those little black clips for the fairing; just use the corner of the allen key to push the centre in a little then pull the whole thing out from the outer edge.

The link you've given is the one, that's where I got mine from though the Oz distributor was out of stock and had to get in it from the UK, all up about a 6wk wait for me

So, I delayed writing this response because Monday/Tuesday we had poor weather and I didn't get to ride.

Anyway, the windscreen does impact sound to a certain extent however I can still hear the wind rushing past. Before it was a sustained roar at anything above 35mph but now I can actually hear the wind changing directions (if there is a cross wind for example). So, less noise but certainly not eliminated.

I think my helmet is pretty noisy though (been taken apart to paint a few times) so this likely contributes.

The biggest difference is the pressure. Previously there was a strong push against my shoulders and helmet but now that is gone at normal speeds. For example, when I would glance to my blind spot I could feel my helmet being pulled around. A few times my visor even came open. Now I have much more unimpaired head movement.

Hope this helps. This is just my opinion though so maybe someone else would have another opinion.

For reference I am almost 6 feet tall.

I saw someone posted on the Puig windscreen here but they haven't put up much comment. Personally I like the look of the powerbronze and I wanted black which it doesn't appear Puig are offering. Just personal preference though.
I couldn't be mor agree.... The Powerbronze's look si mor agresive, and I think it's a little bit taller isn't it?

I will put also a black windscreen to my bike....
:thumbsup

I have had the Purple Iridium Powerbronze for about 10 months and I love it! I do a ton of high speed riding on the freeway over long distances and it has helped tremendously over the stock screen! I don't regret making the change even though it was a PITA.

Will be joining the "Powerbronze club" soon. Got the light tint version and tried to install it yesterday which failed miserably. Will get it installed at a bike shop instead and some pictures soon.

Based on the feedback above, at 5'4", I will be enjoying this upgrade.

How long did it take to receive the Powerbronze windshield? I ordered one, but didn't get a confirmation. According to their webpage they first send it from the UK to USA distributor, THEN send tracking info for the final leg to the customer. IIRC they said it could take up to a month! They better be handmaking that sucker custom.

Compare this to the very well made Tyga part I ordered that took a whole two days to travel from Thailand directly to my house in the USA (routed through India then Germany). I was very impressed with them.

Mine took 5 or 6 weeks......

Also - in the hope that it helps someone, On my late '14 model, the two infamous allen bolts (which need the special long tool) weren't there - instead I got away with an 8mm socket + universal joint.

Further, I used the puig instructions (since the powerbronze didn't come with any? :confused2)

If you order from ebay seller superbikestore_llc ... it seems to be their US distributor. My smoked windscreen shipped the next day and arrived a few days later with free shipping. Very happy on that front.

Thanks a million to all who posted help with the install. If you accept that it's not a fast job, it's not so bad til you get to those last two silver bolts whose reputation is well deserved! My only uncertainty was that the screen ships with a rubber gasket type fitting that I couldn't figure out how to handle. I just ignored it, and all seems well.

So, tried it for about 200 miles yesterday at speeds up to an interstate 82mph. I'm 6'0". I had high hopes for the replacement because the OEM screen seemed to be pretty much the worst possible design for my height and position. The main turbulence hit right at the bottom of my full-face helmet. Lots of buffeting, lots of wind roar, and this incredible power of sucking in every insect in the county and channeling it directly onto my faceshield.

I'm really pleased with the powerbronze screen. I have to say I didn't notice it being much quieter inside my shoei rf1100. I will definitely still want earplugs for long rides. What was much improved was the turbulence. Buffeting is gone, like gone. Just a smooth pressure. The air isn't going over my helmet at highway speed, but it's hitting the more aerodynamic part instead of the bottom collar. As for bugs, there aren't enough out yet to comment, but I'm hoping.

The ride seemed incredibly less fatiguing over all. More than would seem to be explained by just a smoother airflow around my helmet. But the windscreen is all that changed. So admitting that there could have been psychological factors or some unknown variable, I can't help but be way stoked about the new screen. Maybe that wind blast was fatiguing me more than I knew.

I'll be riding an 'ironbutt' 1000 miles in 24 hours to the Austin MotoGP in a few weeks, so this may turn out to be the best $90 I've spent in some time.

I have never regretted getting the Powerbroze screen either. It has helped a lot since I do a ton of riding!

You're doing an "ironbutt" ride....do you still have a stock seat or have you gone with the Corbin? I could not do a 1000 mile ride on the stock seat. After about 200 miles....I was in pain in places a man shouldn't feel pain. I got the Corbin seat and I could ride all day now if I had places to go that far! ;) Just a suggestion. They can expedite if needed too.

Good luck either way!

Here's my review:
Wind performance seems pretty good, so it functions as intended.

However, I'm not happy with the build quality. I may be spoiled by my Zero Gravity on the Ninja, but ZG set my expectations so much higher. The Powerbroze seems like an overly thick piece of acrylic, and it shows. I'm also frankly a little concerned what might happen in the event of an accident.

Fitment isn't great, although Honda didn't make it easy on this bike (presumably why ZG stayed out of it this time). Since there isn't a tab at the very bottom of the screen, like on the OEM, there is now a gap that projects a little light from the marker light..... I guess the upside is you can now see from the riding position when it burns out. I'm not sure I'd do it again.... but it wasn't too $$, so I'm not sure I wouldn't either. I am disappointed though.

I did get the Corbin for just that reason. It sounds like the stock seat suited me a little better than it did you at least; I've done 350 miles, and 670 in two days, ready to get off but not at all miserable. The Corbin I've not exceeded 200 yet but it is an improvement comfort-wise. And it still lets me do my favorite trick of putting my boots on the passenger pegs for a stretch every once in a while. If you start out that way it feels awkward, but on a long ride when you're getting uncomfortable the change of position is actually nice. Maybe for 10% of my riding time.

Pretty sure this was meant for one of the Corbin threads, but yes.... if you do anything more than short commutes, you'll like like the Corbin.

Now back to the cheaply made, but properly shaped, Powerbronze windshield thread.

Sorry for the hijacking of the thread. Just trying to help out a fellow rider. Would have been better to PM, but I was already responding to the Powerbronze portion of this thread.

I do agree that the build could be better on these, but like you said, not too expensive and it helped put the air where I needed it.
