He told me to wait on him. Not sure how much backlog with orders vs manufacturing he has, so I'm not giving up hope. I'd go ahead and do the tail tidy if they made a cut kit without voids for the rear signals. I just want to install the integrated sequential tail light and clean up the rear as much as possible, but the options are just so limited. :frown
You should check out what I did with the tail tidy and integrated turn signals:

I would love to clean that up even more and I think one of these Thai kits is the ticket :spin

I agree. The bracketed one is too much metal. I think you'd be able to find a very small bracket to attach your plate, then take it off if you wanted to head to the track.
I have some targa parts and brackets here already so I'm sure I could rig up something, but I'd love to have that tail piece thou :)

You did a great job with it! I just don't want to spend the money on that to get a result I'm not happy with. I don't want turn signal voids! :frown

Maybe we should start pestering R&G about a cut tail tidy that deletes the signals!

Pretty talented guy here in Thailand has taken OEM tail pieces and reshaped them with fiberglass. :thumbsup

I'll talk to the shop I got mine at and see what can be done, they're pretty cheap honestly.

Biggest headache is the modification involved in installing them since our bikes have a ridiculous steel pipe that needs to be hacked off completely. I can testify that a hacksaw works just fine though. :)

Check your PMs.

I ordered a couple oem fenders from hondaparts-direct (they're cheap!) and I'm going to try making one myself. I spent some time studying the lines on the stock fender and I think cutting it down and shaping it with fiberglass should be (relatively speaking) easyish.

Edit: Still interested in one I can just buy and not have to go through the trouble though

This is how facebook conversations go with this dude in case anyone is wondering...

Yep, that looks and sounds about right. While I can speak Thai (at about a 4th grade level), I have my local bike shop owner as the go between for communication.

That is the fella that makes them...but its like pulling teeth sometimes trying to work through language barriers.

When I order parts, it's essential to me that the shipper speaks my language so I don't end up with the totally wrong stuff via miscommunication or misunderstanding.

The guy does incredible work though and his stuff is pretty nice.

Contacted HotBodies Racing

I've been lurking on this particular thread for a while now and thought I would contribute something. I called HotBodies Racing to discuss the 500R and the lack of available fender eliminators on the market. I referenced this forum as proof of interest and demand. HotBodies has always treated me well in the past and, because they're a small company, they are responsive to consumer demand. The rep that I spoke to was well informed about the CBR500 situation.

They offer fender eliminators for the entire range of Hondas, but for liability reasons they have no plans to offer one for the 500R. Because the bracket has to be cut to install anything decent looking, the potential exists that someone could mess it up and ultimately try to sue the company so they're just staying away from that product. This is not a situation where one will come in 6 months when they get to it; it's not coming and that's a deliberate business decision.

On another note, they do offer custom work so you might be able to order a one-off item but it would cost a lot more than what most of us are looking for.

I'll keep following this until someone figures out something. Good luck guys! Add me to the list for a group order when we find one.
