I have never seen ANY manufacturer-provided helmet lock that I couldn't defeat with a good solid tug or two.

You can secure a helmet to a bike, but not with anything any manufacturer gives you. They are at best meant to discourage the casual thief. It won't stop the guy who is just trying to do damage, but the truth is very little will stop that guy. If you protect one thing, he'll find a way to smash another.

I do like the XENA disk brake alarms. Just jiggle things a bit and they screech your ears off. That actually tends to be somewhat effective against drunks.

I loop an 18" cable through the faceplate, then lock it into my disk brake lock/alarm. I'm wear a fairly expensive Shoei, but it's plain white which somehow seems to be the least popular color amongst the kind of people who are likely to steal helmets. (Icons with wild graphics seem to be more their style.)
same... i have a Shoei rf-1100 and i am paranoid but they do seem to be not as recognized by thieves as pricey.

Yeah, the thing about Shoei and Arai is that they tend to be pretty conservative in their decoration, so they tend to look kind of "plain jane" compared to many others. On the other hand, $200 Icons with half-naked women on them look really, really cool to gangbangers and drunks.

I learned one thing during my driving experience and my night life exp :D.... In nights never leave your helmet/ riding gear on the bikes.... people might think of crazy ideas when they are under alcohol influence.....:)
Yeah that's my worry: leave my helmet with the bike, and some idiot decides to spit/p1ss/cr@p in it for fun...

Before you order new rear fairings!!! I will have a spare set of red ones in about 5 days if you want to buy mine.

Having witnessed a drunk guy use some ones helmet as a toilet, my helmet goes everywhere with me.

i put my (full face) helmet on the pillion seat and pass cable lock through the helmet and the rear carrier....if they can nick it, they deserve to have it...
I run the cable to the Xena lock/alarm that's on the rear disk. If they move it, it sets off the alarm.
