I've got the center stand on my CB500F model and no way could you ever get it to touch down. The tires would have gone away way before it ever got to the stand. Once you get it mounted you will see why It can't touch down unless the bike lay all the way over on it's side.

 

I have the Motech on my 500F and I concur with SonicBoom. No touching.

One of the problems with installing the stock Honda centerstand is getting the spring hooked from the stand to the frame. It's a very stout spring and hard to stretch. I found that if I remove the muffler, the stand can swing up past the normal stop point and makes the distance from the frame hook to the stand hook less, making the spring installation much easier. This if for a 2013 to 2015 R model.

I came across read sw motech fitting instruction. It seems there is a minor 'cut' need to be done for R. This is so uncool

 

The minor cut is unnecessary on the 500F. The company was being overly cautious.
Not sure about the 500R, but probably not needed also.

Yes, there is a minor cut needed on the plastic in the area of the side stand on a 2013-15 R model. Not a big deal.
