I'm not sure how bikes work so please enlighten me, but I thought cutting a frame was cutting a frame?
Sure, no problem.

A typical bike has a frame, subframe, swingarm, front forks, an engine, and other stuff attached to it like seat, handlebars, fairings, wheels, lights, etc.

Frames have serial numbers. Engines have serial numbers.

If you remove a piece of the rear fender bracket, that is seperate from the rear subframe, and more importantly, the FRAME.

( But I'll bet you knew that already. )
:D

Lol, so I'm sure the Honda engineers found it cheaper to put that steel tubing back there than a removable plastic piece like on other bikes, and it has no structural significance.

You might want to direct any further speculation on your part to Big3, since he has direct experience with this modification.

According to him, it has no structural significance beyond providing something for the rear fender "mess" to attach to.

Good luck with your research.

This has been on R & G's website for a while now and is, IMHO, hardly worth bothering with as it's not far short of the standard hangar - in fact the base area is bigger and looks a similar size to the paving slabs on my patio..!

I've been told by R & G personally over the fone that they are working on a revised product which removes the current standard set-up and replaces it with something much smaller. Time will tell...

yep, it is a nice fender eliminator and a complete one.
of course you need to cut the tail section a bit.
but you need a mud guard if you are living in rainy areas otherwise, the rear of your bike - and worst your gf's - will be a mess with all that road dirt, mud and grime.

Looks like from the street vendor in Bangkok... hopefully this means someone is producing these and will turn up online shortly..
actually, this is around for 6 months so surprised why they dont sell this in international level.
but sure if you can communicate with them, they can send one to you.

That looks really nice! sadly I dont think we can have that here in this nanny country.

On the same note, I meant to ask this where relevant. If you care to do a search on ebay this,

R&G Racing Tail Tidy For Honda 2014 CBR500 R LP0151BK

Is that an error in picture 'cos that tail does not look like a cbr500r?

It's definitely a CBR500R tail with the R&G tail tidy.
Looks the same as mine.
