a) Can it be adjusted - Period. (either by dealer or at home )
b) I guess it is ECU controlled ? ..... is it ?
c) assuming it IS ECU controlled - why is there a screw and locknut at / near the injection end of the throttle cable ?

The service "person" was a bit surprised when I demonstrated the 2022 model's ability to display the rpm on the standard instrumentation (this was after he tried to persuade me that the tickover was at my requested level !!)

Handbook says 1200 rpm +/- 100 , so it's 1200 rpm actual, is grand on paper ... I feel it's slightly high , and would prefer 1100 +0 / -50 rpm ............... can I get this ? (hence above questions)

You need to reflash the ECU if you want to modify idle RPM. On other hand - lowering RPM is a bad idea. Oil pressure could drop below minimum level with all the consequences.

The screw you are speaking about is for throttle body calibration - and touching it is also a bad idea. Basically it helps to mantain idle air valve within its operating range.

As Timur said, throttle butterfly's factory set base line. IACV controls idle speed from the ECU collecting all the information from others sensors. I think they idle slightly higher than a 4 cylinder to keep them smooth. I think you may get used to it. It's dead on spec.

Thanks for the response - does not quite answer the question - can a dealer adjust to 1100 rpm ? (That would still be within factory spec . and do ZERO harm to oil pressure ... engineer speaking)
I'm guessing no - and certainly I would not want to start reflashing ecu !
It's not a case of getting used to it - it would just be slightly "kinder" to the transmission train , when engaging first gear.

Dealer won't do it even having the equipment for flashing. You will need to go to tuning shop for this mod.

The only time you hear the crunch is when you select 1st gear, I pull the clutch in and give it a second before engaging 1st. You will not get it crunch free it has no Synchromesh like a car. I would doubt 1,000 revs at idle would make it crunch free.

Who said anything about crunching ?? ............ I've only been doing this sort of thing for nearly 60 years
So what's the problem with 1st gear?

On other hand - why you don't want to reflash your bike? With proper tools it's a safe process and can be done by yourself - you mentioned you are engineer , it shouldn't be a problem for an engineer. It will be more expensive than in a tuning shop tho.
