Hi guys
Wondering if anyone else had this issue. Changed my chain yesterday went fine but when putting the gear arm back the bolt listed 18 in the part catalogue diagram below head stripped felt no excessive tension until the last 4mm. If this has happened to you guys how did u get it out i was planning on recip sawing the middle gap and then using a screw extractor to get it out although I'm worried the thread will be ruined, would it be better to just replace the lot thanks.

Do you have access to a dremel? If you use the really fine grinding disc it should cut through that gap. You need to fully remove the bolt to remove the linkage arm (part 2). I'd be super cautious about damaging the splines on the shaft though.

Your problem has stemmed from pushing the lever too far into the shaft - it must to sit flush with the end.
The splines of the shaft form part of the thread the bolt screws into, so be VERY careful not to damage that shaft!
Difficult thing to get to now, but hope you find a method to cut the bolt free
