I have a 2013 CBR500R that I will be racing in CMRA. The rules require a steering damper. After searching the forum and google, I have been unable to find a steering damper kit or even just the brackets. Anyone know of one or have one they would sell?

You can install Hyperpro linear damper - but a DIY bracket need to be made. I made this one for my CB500X:

You need this kind of bracket:

Bear in mind this bracket works for CB500X - it fits on front fairing support. On CBR probably you will need to modifiy it a bit.

You need 75mm damper - it fits nicely. I cut a bit the inside part of fairing but otherwise it's just perfect.

I used this brackets also:

With this and few M8, M6 bolts, nuts and O-rings you can mount it together.

It works fantastic - zero freeplay and gives a lot of stability in sweepers.

I appreciate the help. I’ll try it, but I don’t have a mill. Time to break out the files. I’ll also keep looking for other options. Thank you.

I just checked my bike, that method will not work due to the fairing support being removed and replaced with a race fairing support.
