I have checked my valve clearances and happen to notice some wear to the rocker shaft mainly visual but very slight by feel. At 12,000 I am wondering what it will be like in another 30,000 miles. Has anyone noticed this issue at the first valve adjustment, or at higher mileage. It's had 6 oil changes in 4 years on fully synthetic. Any comments would be welcomed. P.S. Four rocker arms and two shafts are £380 pounds.
There must be a wear spec for that somewhere in the manual. Unfortunately I never had my cover off to adjust the valves but that doesn’t seem that bad.
Does that shaft rotate within some type of bushing?
So that’s the shaft that the rockers rotate on? If that’s the case then it’s probably case hardened and you just polished that particular area. They most likely all do it.
If you can’t feel it with a fingernail then I wouldn’t worry.
Worse case is you buy new shafts.
