I am having the same issue. What is the part number.Anyone know the part number for a genuine HONDA oil filter for these CBR500 bikes?
I was at the dealer today, and the parts guy said it wasn't even in his system yet.
Daniel,Hello to all
Today i replaced the oil filter of my Honda cb500f, the part number i used is:
The dealer told me that it's fully interchangeable
I've done a little run of 80km and i confirm there were not leaks, so i think it proves that its seals well too.
so this part number can be used if the other one its not available
I am looking to buy the right Torque wrench. What size is this filter, and what did you use as far as Torque?
The manual specifies: 19 lbf.ft (26 N.m, 2.7kgf.m)
T0ad has an excellent write up, here on the forum, for how to do an oil change on these bikes.I was so frustrated today. Everywhere I called to have an oil change done, have appointments out for "TWO WEEKS". My bike is a bit past 400 miles, but I ride alot so by the time they are able to service my bike, I will easily be around 8-900 miles, if not more. The info in this thread is very helpful, plus I just called a friend of mine who rides a CBR1000RR, and he is going to show me how to do the change myself. I was concerned with the filters being compatable.
