Hi, I’m from Tasmania, and just about to get my hands on a new cbr500r.
I have been riding for about 5 years, and when I’m not riding I’m taking photos of bikes, with a particular interest in road racing. Hubby also rides, he races and we love to enjoy the empty twisty back roads in Tasmania.

Ooo, Taz, the down under of the down under! Never been, but from my google earth musings I see what you mean. I saw you also started the downsizing thread. All I can say about that is plenty of us long term riders have downsized to the 500 for various reasons. Through out my 60+ years of riding 500cc has always hit the sweet spot. I also live in a place where the majority of the riding is on small, technical, twisty back roads & the 500 is perfect for that terrain. I rarely need to exceed 70mph for long periods on highways, so the 500 even with stock gearing is fine. I understand the people who mostly ride on multi-lane motorways at speeds of 80mph+ mixing it up with all the frantic commuters would want something with more HP. However for the real world of everything else the Honda is a great bike.

Apparently I'm quite behind things: When did Honda go to inverted forks and dual rotors in the front?
