So, I noticed my oil is real low and wanted to top it off a bit. I bought my 2019 CBR500R off Facebook and don't know what oil he used. Is it ok to mix different brands of oil if they are the same viscosity (10w30)? Or should I do a complete oil change to make sure I'm using the same oil?

Do you know how long the present oil has been in the bike? If over 3000 miles, I'd change it and the filter. Use 10/40 full synthetic motorcycle-specific oil (look for JASO-2 certification). Then, increase change intervals to 6000 miles. Synthetic oil does not break down as quickly as mineral oil does and a 6000 change interval is not excessive.

For less than $100, just change the oil and get a new oil filter and start fresh, then you don't need to be worried and you know exactly what is in the bike. Ride safe!
