I see that many (most?) people calculate fuel efficiency in how many miles they can get from a gallon of fuel. In my part of the world, fuel efficiency is calculated as how many liters of fuel it takes to complete 100 km.

With that in mind, these are my notes about the fuel efficiency of my Honda CB500F (year 2018), mainly used to commute to work with a mixture of highway (60 mph / 95 kmh) and urban riding (many stops and traffic lights):

380 km, 12.23 L = 3,22 L/100 km.
370 km, 12 L = 3,24 L/100 km.
403,8 km, 13,08 L = 3,24 L/100 km.
414 km, 13,23 L = 3,19 L/100 km.
406,9 km, 12,45 L = 3,06 L/100 km.
389 km, 12,99 L = 3,34 L/100 km.
433 km, 13,36 L = 3,08 L/100 km.
411 km, 13,07 L = 3,18 L/100 km.
403 km, 13,20 L = 3,27 L/100 km.
404 km, 13,60 L = 3,36 L/100 km.
417 km, 13,89 L= 3,33 L/100 km.

(Note: the smaller the value, the better the fuel efficiency. The lowest values probably correspond to rainy weeks where my riding style becomes ultra soft.)

For comparison purposes, these are my notes about the fuel efficiency of my Honda CRF250L (year 2013), which I ride for joy mainly in the weekends:

154 km, 5,50 L = 3,57 L/100 km.
127 km, 4,80 L = 3,78 L/100 km.
143 km, 5,90 L = 4,12 L/100 km.
134 km, 5,45 L = 4,07 L/100 km.
169 km, 6,04 L = 3,57 L/100 km.
143 km, 5,60 L = 3,92 L/100 km.
143 km, 5,39 L = 3,77 L/100 km.
178 km, 6,18 L = 3,47 L/100 km.
176 km, 5,89 L = 3,35 L/100 km.
116,5 km, 3,75 L = 3,22 L/100 km. (this was a day-long trip on tarmac secondary roads in the mountains)
162,5 km, 4,9 L = 3,02 L/100 km. (this week I used this bike to commute to work)

As you can see, the CB500F is as efficient, or even more efficient, than a single cylinder 250cc bike.
