So Ive heard and witnessed that these 500s can get pretty hot. Ive noticed my feet getting warm, but I keep my feet inboard on the pegs. Today I rode about 100 kilometers and concentrated on keeping my heavy leather shoes from touching the motor. By the end of the ride my feet were pretty **** hot. Made me wonder if there are heat shields available for other bikes and soon for this? Or am I just being a cry baby?

Heat is normal. You just have to get used of it.
But cbr500 is getting more hot that some bigger bikes what i noticed.
I never heard of any heat shield on a sport bike.

You will be begging for that heat in the winter dude... I call the motor heat the 'standard' hand warmer (much better then heated grips) but only when used stationary of course!

I was at panic too when the heat was building up on my cbr250r but then my friend has the same thing with his cbr600rr and said it was a normal thing to deal with. So I would only imagine if you got more rev happy the bike would be more hot.
