SO.... what are they?

I have read varying reviews showing top speeds from 125 (190km/h) to 165mph (265km/h)...

AND

I have read various reviews showing 0-60mph (O-100km/h) from 3.4seconds to 5 seconds....

What's the truth of the matter?

There's a video that shows a guy trying to take himself out of the gene pool while maxing the 650F. After doing the conversion it looks like around 160mph.

Lol agreed...

Yes, I've seen that. What a muppet!! Mind you, they're fearless, the Thai lot! No protection, crappy roads and whipping the nuts out of all kinds of machines!

I wouldn't have believed you could get a stock CB650F to go 160 mph.
On the other hand a 0-60 time of 5 secs seemed pretty pessimistic.
Guys can get close to that on our 500's.

160 mph / 257 kph is the top possible stock dyno speed, from the youtube videos I saw. Maybe with a tailwind downhill ...

I had watched a few videos about the 650F and I may have confused the speed on the dyno video with the top speed run. My apologies.:beers

i have seen 230 kph with my cbr650f and still room to reach at least 240 kph on a flat straight.
Bike can do a maximum of 259 kph theoretically but practically i believe it is hard if you are not a 40 kg guy on a very very long straight.
and 0 - 100 kph people say is 4,3 seconds.

I'm 5'11" (1.8m) and weigh 12st 6lb (78.9kg).

We shall see!!! Very few straight stretches long enough to test it round here... certainly fewer where it would be safe... and none where it would not result in my licence being put through the shredder if I was caught.

It's nice to know these things to brag about... I mean how many Bugatti Veyron owners will have maxed their cars out?

The difference is a bugatti takes 7.1 secs to hit 124mph. In 20 secs you can hit 280. If you manage to hit 280 just once the tires explode. It cost $44,000 to replace and $69,000 on rims

Don't read Motor Rend. It's a crap magazine. The Veyron can NOT do 280.

The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport is a limited (30 units) version of the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 with increased engine power of 1,200 PS (880 kW; 1,200 bhp) and torque of 1,500 N·m (1,100 lbf·ft), a revised aerodynamic package.[66] It has a 431.072 km/h (267.856 mph) top speed, making it the fastest production road car in production [3][67][68] although it is electronically limited to 415 km/h (258 mph) to protect the tyres from disintegrating.[66]

The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport World Record Edition is a limited (5 units) of the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport with special black exposed carbon body and orange body colour.[69]

The vehicle was unveiled in 2010 The Quail, followed by 2010 Monterey Historic Races at Laguna Seca, 2010 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.[70]

The Super Sport is valued at GB£1.7 million.[1][71]

Incorrect. They do not explode, but they can't do it twice. and are we really comparing a nearly 3 million dollar car to a 8 thousand dollar bike just for shits and giggles? lol:spin

Edit: just realized that 280 number, as Turner said... top speed is 254.
