Every review I've read says this bike is a great commuter, but ... can you tour on it?
I'm getting old(er) and my ST1100 is getting heavier - I'd like to lose some weight. I'm familiar with 1,000 mile days, but typically try to keep it between 500 and 750. 3 to 5 hundred could be for lunch.
I've been debating purchasing either a CB500F or a CB650F. They both seem to have an more upright seating position and of course have Honda reliability. I figure a small shield and some saddlebags and I should be good to go for a while. I was considering a NC700x, but the CB500F is faster and just as competent, but weighs less. After looking at things like Hp and top speeds, I'm more inclined to go for the 650 - the numbers make it more highway friendly. I try to ride backroads, but frequently don't mind that extra umph to reposition myself in traffic.
I've been riding large bikes for the last @200K miles and enjoy just rolling down the road - do you guys think the 500F will be enough? Thanks!
