Hello fellow bikers,

I have a problem which annoys me A LOT. I searched online for this there were similar problems yet not the same and did not provide a solution for me. Maybe I can find answers here.

First some information;

Year: 2018
Model: (FA)
KM: (3550)
Breaking-In done carefully, as the Users Manual says.

The problem,

I am hearing a high pitched noise when the motor is running. It started this morning. It's not like coming from the motor but it's like coming from the electrical parts , especially I think it's source is somewhere near speedometer.

I hopped on the bike-> Turned the key ->Bzzzzz(Beautiful sound of preparation lol) -> Ignition -> Motor starts.

Everything was normal until I leave the garage. When I started to hear the noise my helmets visor was fully closed so it's really obvious and annoying. I opened the visor to inspect it.

It's not connected to RPM's , Speed or Throttle.

It's not connected to Clutch System. (Tried different gears, noise never stopped. Tried pulling the clutch, still same.)

Not connected to Brakes.

Tank was half full.

Then I pulled the clutch while going in the 3rd gear, killed the engine by the switch. Noise gone. I turned the switch on, still no unusual sound, but when I ignite, noise starts again.

If I try to describe the sound, it's really high pitch. Like the annoying background sound of the old TV's. Got it? ?

I don't want to go to the service, I don't trust the mechanics in my area there are a lot of incidents which they change parts to make you pay more and even with the changed parts problem remains. Then they change parts again. After hearing those things it's not really logical to trust the service.

Anyways friends, I will appreciate any kind of ideas about the issue. Thank you for reading, have a nice day you all. ^^

Wolf: You've certainly assessed all the usual suspects. I hope someone has a workable diagnosis for you. I don't, sad to say.

Had a thought that it may be fuel pump related???

The old CRT colour TVs used to have a 15750Hz buzz from the horizontal oscillator, I think. That's pretty high frequency.
At my age , I can't hear it anymore, but certainly did back in the days before LCD and LED TVs.
Let us know when you figure it out, sounds intriguing, but hopefully nothing serious.

If it were the fuel pump, I would think the sound would happen as soon as the ignition switch were turned on. If I understand him correctly, he means the sound happens when the engine is running, but clearly NOT related to the engine or engine RPMs.

I think the fuel pump starts up when ignition switch is turned on so the fuel system is pressurized for the engine to start/
.
I could be wrong, but this is just a thought.

Enlist one of your neighborhood's snot-nosed kids to help out. They can hear anything. Anyone like me, and older than dirt, couldn't hear it until essential bike parts started falling off into the road.

I don't think the problem does matter for now. You're gonna need to find a trustable mechanics anyway, because what I understand is the issue is not something identifiable by words. Maybe a video record works?

On the other hand, first thing come to my mind for a new bike like yours is warrant. You should press Honda service to repair for free.

I don't know what else to say. I hope it's not something serious.
