Hi all, anyone ridden 500 miles a day on a CB500f? My question is geared more towards engine performance, not ergo/comfort.
On a 2022, 500f, with only 3600 miles on the engine at this point. I would do the 4k service before trip. Thanks!
Do the service. Flush out any manufacturing debris not caught at the 500k service
Long rides wear the engine less than a number of shorter rides so it probably wont make a difference. Expect zero problems with these bikes.
Fitting of a 17 tooth countershaft sprocket will lower revs 13% and that will make cruising easier and more economical. There is a "how to?" on this forum. A 17T countershaft sprocket is available from several suppliers. In the USA I recommend Sprocket Specialists. The chain does not have to have links added. Just back off the chain adjuster and push the wheel fully forward. 1st gear on these bikes is so abysmally low ex-factory that the change of sprockets will make 1st gear more usable.
Just back from Barcelona to Lyon (approx 400 mile) in single day.
