Hey all,

Just picked up a used 2018 CB500F in matte black with ~820km. This is my first bike and I've put about 100km on it so far cruising around with my partner on her new 2019 Rebel 500. We've both taken our motorcycle safety courses and are excited to get them out on the road!

Happy to have found what looks to be a good resource for getting questions answered regarding the bike. Looking to maybe install a tail tidy and LED turn signals and will be back to search up advice if I do.

Anyways, hey y'all! Nice to meet you.

Hello! Nice bike, by the way.

Are you in the USA? How does the motorcycle license work there? Is the "motorcycle safety course" mandatory?, Is it a test for the motorcycle license?

Nice one scallopsnbacon welcome.

I have a 2016 CB500F also my first bike. One thing I've found super useful was these mirror extenders - I got tired of looking at my elbows...

Your screen name is delicious. A nice variation on “surf & turf”. I am wondering where you are? Since you use metric measure I suppose not the US. We have the same basic bike even though mine is a 2016F. I understand wanting to clean up the look of the rear mudguard, but in a practical sense it does keep wet fling off your back somewhat. In that vein I installed both a front fender extender & rear tire hugger. I am not a fan of riding in the rain, but sometimes there is no choice. Also there are times where the roads are wet even if it is not raining. Probably the most useful addition is a centerstand. Makes dealing with the chain so much easier. The OEM Honda one (Motorsport.com) is less expensive than the SW Motech unit. They are an easy install on the F. Enjoy the bike, you made a good first bike choice.

Ride like your life depends on it.
