Hello from East Texas!

I'm 70 years old and rode quite a bit in college (Honda CB160 and Honda Hawk (400cc twin). I quit riding when I was about 30, and decided to get a bike recently - a 2018 CB500xa. I've had the bike about 9 months and have put about 9500 miles on it. I'm a member over at the specific CB500x forum, but saw some information here that I needed so I joined up. There is a thread on this forum started by CBR_KING about installing a Speedohealer that was very helpful (sorry, too new to post a link to it).

I'm looking forward to the knowledge located on this forum.

Welcome to the scene. Wow 40 years is quite the hiatus, but it seems you are making up for lost time logging 1000+mi a month. Good on you.
The 500 was my choice to get back into it after a 15 year absence. Wonderful machine. Have fun.

I'm just enjoying riding. Besides, I have to re-learn my riding skills quickly, before I get too old to
re-learn my riding skills!

Don’t push that relearning curve too hard; it is an easy one to over cook. I was very surprised that it took me about 10,000 mi to really get back in the old groove. It is great when everything clicks & it feels like poetry.

Ride like your life depends on it.

You've got 5 years on me, and I've ridden since I was 16 yrs aged. But I spent over 15 years delivering furniture from NC into LA and TX, and I never met an OLD Texan. A few older guys I knew quit showing up to unload me, so I figured them dead. But Never an Old Texan. Welcome back. Ride Safe, and enjoy it until you can't show up anymore.

To ride or not to ride? What a stupid question!... Anon
