UK rider, 2017 500ra, was tracking the bike from new, at 8000 miles I’d used 110 gallons. Averaging 72.6 mpg mostly motorway, dual carriageway commuting. Highest ever single read, 91.5 mpg, I fill up, ride till I dare, record mileage, fill up again. Fuel used to fill equals distance travelled since last fill. Most reads at 75 ish.

I met a guy here in Perth that got his learners at 70 & open class at 72. Rides a 2014 CBR500RA almost identical to mine. Goes hard with it too.

So you've solved your mpg problems.
If you ride at 80mph you will use more gas!

OK, but if you have to ride 80 then you have to use more gas.
You than CAN'T bitch about the low mpgs - can you?

I just pointed out that you solved/found out why your mpgs are low and its NOT the Cali gas.

My first tank of gas yielded 51mpg, although admittedly that included a lot of idling but mostly city/suburban riding. I’m hoping that will improve as currently my 2019 Honda Insight hybrid is getting 57mpg....
