I'm answering my own question in case anyone is interested.

The headed grips part is universal, but there's a specific CBR500r heated grips attachment 08T70-MGZ-D00

I know you're looking at OEM parts. But I'd be hard pressed to pay 3x the cost for "OEM" branded heated grips when I could easily install a product like "Oxford Heaterz Grips" for less than $100 US. Easy to install with good how-to videos, well made, make a nice install package, and they work. But each to their own, If they're branded "Honda", I'm sure they are well made, also.

My pb is that originalky installed heated grips on my cb500x aewn't working anymore so I wanted to do some basic troubleshooting. That's the reason I need installation instructions…

My bad. But here's a link to Honda grips to fit a cb500x. Seems to be the same part #.

Since they seem to be available, I'm guessing, somewhere there is a video to install. Here's a group of How Too's installing heated grips, maybe you can find one that helps.

If all else fails, somewhere in-line on the heated grips wiring harness, is a fuse. Probably near the battery where the harness attaches. If the fuse is good, you'll have to isolate parts. Then try to determine, are both grips NOT working?, only one grip NOT working? Possibly the controller NOT working? It's a guessing game any way you look at it. But if nothing is working, including any lights on the controller, my bet is the in-line fuse, or a disconnected or broken wire in the wiring harness. Next I may try disconnecting any quick connect attachments within the wiring harness, or where the left or right grips plug in, ets, just to insure there's not a bad connection. Good Luck
