Well, well, Well....I just received my RECALL Letter today. Bike going to shop tomorrow evening! It is the Rocker Arm Oil Shaft Bolt just as most people have had issues with! Mine still nice and tight! But getting it fixed ASAP!

Thanks for heads up!

Been Twisting Throttles since 1986!

2013 CBR500R (Tri-color)

Looking at the VIN number range for 500RA it seems it's only for 2013 model.

My bike falls into the batch quoted so I contacted the Service Manager at my dealer. It's a 2 minute job to replace the bolt and no big deal. If you are not leaking oil or seeing the bike chew through oil, then don't panic. Get the bolt replaced for sure but it's not dire. I haven't had to top my oil up between services and have over 8,000kms on it. The Service Manager has had 2 bikes come in with this problem out of the hundreds of CBs they have sold. It is not a frequent problem that they are experiencing. Yes there has been bikes with problems but it doesn't have a high incident rate.

OT I know, but what *exactly* do you mean by that? Do you mean the oil level has not budged a single mm in the 5000km between your first service at 1000km and the second at 6000km? Or do you mean it was still in between the marks in the sight glass at the 600km service. These are not the same thing (not even close).

I just ask as so many people here make vague statements about oil, but I'd like to know what they actually mean. Im using 75mL per 1000km. I wouldnt have had to add oil between services either if it was filled to the top - but it still used oil.

Since this is a pretty important thing for users to see I'm going to sticky the thread.

Thanks for letting everyone know, OzDJ.

It does.

Sold the cbr, bought a green KLX, must ... resist ... to ... paint ... it ... black!
Wrecked the KLX, bought several other bikes.
