Did you post any pics of your new bike on here? The bike, engine, tires break in nicely after a few thousand miles on it. The tires will handle better once they scrub a few k on them. I am at 2200 miles and really notice the improved traction. On my CBR250r they bike didnt break it till after 5k miles.

    Hey,

I was at LA CycleSports the other day (for my 600mile) and they had a tri-color in stock. Not sure how long it'll be there for but I think you might be able to get a good deal on it.

I'm planning on getting the tri-color CBR500 on Tuesday, well after they drop it about 3 inches. LoL. I'm only 5ft tall so I'm kinda limited on what I can get.

Wow 6'2, is there anything about the 500 you like over the other bikes? I actually went to go see it today and it's pretty good looking but still felt a little small. Coming from a 5'0 person. LOL. I think my personality is bigger than my body. If I had a choice I'd get a 600 GSXR or CBR.

That's cool your wife likes it so far. And you got a great deal! I rode my cousins 250 Ninja last month and it sounded like it revved pretty high. I kept thinking that I was in the wrong gear. My cousins were trying to convince me to start on the 250 and I would love to practice on one but I unfortunately don't have the time to buy and sell bikes.

    Thanks for responding friend!

No problem - you probably want to PM TL2Bass, as he's the LA road warrior or RedLady...both of them commute in our beloved L.A. area traffic, although TL rides off hours from what I surmise...

To save you some time, EVERYONE I read here says the 500R (and F) are SMOOTH, STABLE bikes that are FUN to ride in traffic...plenty of power...everyone seems VERY pleased with the bike....

These two threads should help you out considerably:

Wow ok, so you don't have to experience the crazy traffic! Sorry, I thought for some reason you had a CBR500. I'm new to this forum thing and must have gotten confused with who's post said what. I'm planning to buy one next week and and wanted to know how it rides in this crazy LA traffic. I'm commuting 30 miles but the drive is about 2 hours. LOL

I got my license about 2 years ago but a new rider so I'll probably be practicing on the streets for a couple of months. How do you guys like your 250? I almost bought one but thought I might get sick of it pretty easily and that it may not be able to keep up with my commute.

You can see pics of my steed on my thread my new HRC cbr500ra.

I have taken both the beginner MSF and intermediate courses. I've been riding for 7 years and this is my fourth bike. I have owned an HD, sport tourer, the 250 and now the 500. IMO, this bike is learner friendly and is far from intimidating so you will do very well.

I've known owners with Repsol colors in the past and the colors haven't faded so I tend to think the tri wld be the same. That said my bikes kept in a garage in addition to it covered in a garage over the winter.
