Just got Cheshire out of the shop from his spring tune up, and he is ready to ride. While he was in, I had the tech install Arrow bar end mirrors. These things are so cool. I can finally see behind me. Those martian antennae only give me a great view of my elbows no matter how I adjust them. These were definitely worth the money.
Not at all. Position them right and you get a nice view behind you with just a glance. They also turn in many different directions, so there are plenty of positioning options.
I may say the bar end mirrors have made a huge difference since I also added them to my bike. I can finally see everything behind me, where as with the stock mirrors, even with f4i mirrors, I could only see my shoulders.
Filtering is also easier with these mirrors. They are lower down, so am able to pass cars without too much worry, where as again with the stock ones, they where the same height as the cars wing-mirrors, making it hard to progress forwards.
I would also recommend fold-in bar end mirrors. They just allow you to get through a smaller gap you may be unable to get through without them, and if all goes wrong and you clip a mirror, as-long as they are not set to tightly, they will just fold in, preventing damage to your mirrors, and the cars.

They look great. I think bar ends are one of the best mods. Much better view of what's behind you or coming up behind you at a traffic light. I know a couple people who have been hit while stopped in the last couple years and having the bar ends has helped me keep better lookout for the daydreamers and idiots coming up from behind.
I just did the same today with some 10 dollar cheapies from Ebay.
Just as a quick tip, no need to remove your grips and throttle tube to remove the bar end insert. Remove the factory bar end, grab a punch or extension and a hammer, and just tap the inserts in a couple inches. They go in really easily, and they can still provide some anti-vibe. Then you can use any end mirror that fits a 7/8 bar.
Once I get my post count up I can post some photos.
So far I really like them. Much better view than the factory mirrors, and better looking.
I'm planning to take the misses along with me this year and since it'll be harder to coordinate and control BOTH Of us bending out of the way I'm thinking bar-end mirrors may be necessary. Do you have a link/price for the ones you got to get me started? Any plans to remove the stock mirrors? I don't mind both sets honestly. And the link to dragonflies is actually almost spiritual to me since my finacee and I have had our share of interactions with a hostel whose symbol is a dragonfly.
what bar end adapters did you use that allows you to maintain the stock weights? I have a set of crg ls bar-end mirrors that I want to put on but been hesitant. instead I just swapped out the stock mirrors with the ones from a cbr600 f4i and they work so much better. shorter stems, and still able to see behind me and to the side. lane splitting is so much easier now that I don't have to be afraid of clipping car mirrors as I go through.
ah got it. thanks for explaining. I think I'm going to save the bar end mirrors for another bike. I'm more or less in love with the f4i mirrors so I'm going to keep it the way it is right now. before and after pictures of the mirrors. they were taken when I swapped out the stock turn signals with flush ones from tst.
I wanted red, but this one came with $500 extra in free gear, LOL
