Is anyone running the Metzeler Roadtec Z6 set? I'm coming up on 10k on the stock Dunlop d222's and while they've performed admirably, I'm not pleased with the way they've worn. Any input on the Metzeler Roadtec Z6 set would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for that. The Roadtec 01 is certainly enticing, almost seductive. That's the set I want, but the truth is, I simply can't afford them now. I'm not sure if the Z8 is an option given the rear tire size options for that set, and even if it were, it's at the very edge of affordability for me at the moment. The place that had the Z6 set sold them yesterday and now I'm looking at the following list. Anyone care to chime in on these choices?
Not sure on those listed. I replaced mine with a Michelin road pilot 4 set. They had good reviews on longevity here in the forum. 1k miles so far on them and they seem to be decent with plenty of grip.
I've had my best experiences with Pirelli and Dunlop, but I can't afford them right now and I need new tires right now. I've also had great experiences with Bridgestone and Shinko. They cost about the same so It's a toss up at this point. My experience with Shinko has always been that you get a lot more than you pay for. The value there is exceptional. I've had some amazing experiences on Bridgestone too though. They've always been great edge to edge. I'm making my purchase on Friday so I'll think on it a bit more.
I just thought I'd circle back and let you guys know I went with the Bridgestone Battlax 23. I've had very good experiences with this set on other bikes. I'm hoping they suit the 500R as well. I'll report after they're scrubbed in.
