Well, if you're riding like John Mcguinness on the iomtt mountain road, you'll be lucky if you can get past 2k km.

I got about 7k miles out of my stock rear tire. I'd say I ride conservatively with 80% of my driving highway around 70-80mph.

Replaced it with the Road Pilot 4 and it was like night and day difference. The stock tire made me nervous towards the end.

That's impressive. The most miles I think I've put on a tire is 12k and it was 1,000 miles overdue. I now like the Dunlop RoadSmart tires. I want to try the Pirelli Angels and the Michelin Pilot Roads. I prefer a tire with dual compound for better lean angle grip and long life.

Even if it's a way more powerful bike, 10,000 km is not much at all, especially when ridden conservatively.
Reviews online are consistent with what I was told.
6-8k miles from US reviews depending on how you ride.

on supersports, aggressive riders only get about 3,000 miles (5,000 km) out of the high performance tires, so 10,000 km to me sounds about right for a smaller, lighter bike ridden by a conservative rider.

I guess I have to take a pic of my PDR, they've done 16K km and look as if they'll last at least 25K km.

Edit: here are the pics of the rear Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tire after two years and 16,000 km.

I was thinking about getting the PDR3's but went with the Q3 instead.
