last time i used up the "whole" tank on my R, i did about 364 km, that is 226 miles, there still was some fuel left on the bottom of the tank and the most important thing is, i wasn't riding carefully, most of the distance was done up and down various twisty roads and mountain passes so yeah ...
Thanks for sharing your story and great pics! That looks like an interesting car show to see and a fun little road trip on your 500!
The fuel range and mpg on these bikes of ours is one of the things I love most about them! I just recently took an overnight camping trip out to the Oregon Coast from where I live near Portland. I had a heap of gear in my panniers and tail bag and was hard charging most of the time as traffic was light. It was the most miles "past flashing" that I have done so far before a fuel stop. My odometer read 249.7 miles and I topped up with 3.53 US gallons! Nice to know that even after 250 miles there was still half a gallon left in reserve. : ) It translated to 70.74 US mpg or 84.96 Imperial mpg!
Me too. Get 80 mpg average on a normal long day out in Scotland running at all speeds.
Never drops below 76 mpg and often goes up to 85 in lazy mode.
Best allrounder I have had in my 60+ yrs riding.
