Default Ask A Motorcycle Thief

I have been looking into security options for our bikes at home and when we are out and about. It's interesting to get both perspectives on How They Steal and what puts them off.

This article link is from RideApart which is a great website which you should Favourite and visit each week. Especially as a learner.

I'm interested to know what you guys do for security at home and also when you're out?

I'm thinking 2 good quality disk brake locks when I'm out, and a ground anchor and heavy chain when it's home.

yeah great article. where i am coming from, how hard you try still they get your bike within seconds!
but thailand is safer than our countries believe me. people are happy with small amount of earnings here, weather is always hot and food is cheap, you do not need much and they do not want to risk their freedom too often.

As I've posted elsewhere:

Xena disk lock/alarm on the rear.
Xena disk lock on the front.

In my area I have to be realistic about the fact that if they want it, there are more than enough guys who are good enough to get it no matter what I do, but also that in this area, they have many, many more far juicier targets to go after. Plenty of supersports and Ducatis in accessible locations. I see quite a few Ninjas, FZ6Rs, and other bikes in similar categories to ours and have not heard of many thefts.
